Boutique hotel in the heart of the developed docklands with nice staff and nicely fitted rooms
Small and friendly with luxury thrown in, perfect location for enjoying all that Cardiff Bay has to offer, fantastic service too. Bar Catch is like a comfy home from home and the Mojitos are stunning, much better than the overpriced ones we had at the Celtic Manor 5* a few months ago! Breakfast is well worth getting up for to, well presented and delicious. Will definitely be returning for another stay in the near future.
The Bar closed at 1am but if I'm honest we had probably had enough by then!
Superb location - wonderfuls staf and marvellous on-site bar
The location at Cardiff bay is absolutely superb aswell as the food quality , rooms and the prompt , propper and clean service provided by its young, friendly and professional staff. Always try the famous pizzas from the cozy hotel restaurant underneath. Also the front rooms have a marvelous view over the Cardiff bay from the room and bathing room also being absolute opposite of the new theatre.
As being a 4 star Hotel, they might need another quality plumber or maintenance man since a few bathroom floor tiles were not fixed/loose and in the bath/shower ceiling were strips moudly despite the good ventilation and the good quality design ceramics .
Nice comfortable room. Very comfoartable bed. Close to the bay and restuarants. Short trip to train station/ downtown area. Nice bar downstairs of hotel. No noise as bar closes at 11pm. Excellent wood fired pizza in bar. Very nice hotel in a newly rejuvinated area.
Only one room with a shower. All other rooms come with big tubs. Would have liked to know about the "only one room with a shower" before booking. Invest in ceiling fans. Room very stuffy with no air circulation. Provided one small fan but when you left the room and took your door card with you all the power in the room went off. Came back to a very stuffy room.
I am still waiting for mt receipt by email-which is a nuisance as I don,t know how much I paid and need it to claim expenses.
Quirky bar downstairs was good, a nice change to the usual corporate off white and wood. The hotel is right in the bay, easy access to everything.
Only one thing, the wifi is advertised as being throughout the hotel. However the signal in the rooms is extremely weak, my laptop connected whilst on the floor only. For a business user, this is a real pain.
a constant loud humming noise in the room which seemed to be coming from a fuse book in the corner of the room. found it very lard to fall asleep
the location was excellent for all the things that we had planned
our bedroom was next to the central heating boiler which seemed to be on all night,so had a disturbed nights sleep, may not be a problem for some, but was for me!
The bedroom was lovely and the bathroom fantastic. Nice big comfortable bed. Such a good position in the Bay.
A bit disappointed with the breakfast - stale cake and stale bread cereal and fruit were good.
Perfect location for Cardiff bay bars & restaurants Rooms very comfortable and clean (also enjoyed the bowl of sweets ) Staff very friendly and helpful.
The continental breakfast could have been better.
The location is outstanding opposite the Millenium Centre. The hotel is small and boutique with antique furniture and designer bathrooms with spa bath.
Cardiff Bay is a night out hotspot so it can be noisy around the area on Friday and Saturday nights.
We were given a choice of rooms on arrival by a friendly, helpful, girl. The location in Cardiff Bay was brilliant for exploring and eating out.
The bar had run out of such basics as orange juice (it was Monday and they had had a busy weekend!).
the room was very small & basic and seem to be used as an office by hotel staff
Breakfast was a little slow considering only 2 tables were being used, but this was a minor thing.
